The Internet is a global network using agreements and protocols that allows devices can communicate with each other and exchange information with each other.

The precursor of Internet is APRANET（Advanced Research Projects Agent Network）that was created by United States Department of Defense in 1960s which is used in military for avoiding nuclear damage. Now, it is in everywhere, for example, your phone, cars, laptps, pads, even locker.

 

• what is World Wide Web , who founded/created it, when and why,  how was it used originally and how it is used today

 

The World Wide Web was invented by Sir Tim Berners-Lee, a British computer scientist, in 1989 while working at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research). He developed the first web browser and editor, as well as the first web server, in 1990. The foundational technologies he introduced include HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), URI (Uniform Resource Identifier), and HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol). These technologies formed the basis of the World Wide Web. It was designed to facilitate collaboration among scientists. Originally used for academic purposes, Now use in e-commercial, social medias, and information communication.

The Internet and the World Wide Web (WWW) are related but distinct concepts. Internet is a global network using agreements and protocols that allows devices can communicate with each other and exchange information with each other. And WWW the World Wide Web is a system of interlinked hypertext documents and multimedia content that is accessed via the Internet. Internet is most work in Network (layer 3) and Transport (layer 4), WWW is most work on Application (layer 7). Internet is like a highway to offer the infrastructure and policy, and WWW is different applications appalment like differential cars run in the highway. They work together, but have different positions.

The first website was created by Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, in 1991. This website was hosted on the CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) server and served as the foundation for the World Wide Web.  The url is  https://info.cern.ch/

 

 

 

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and Lamarr

Hedy Lamarr was a famous actress who also helped invent a technology during World War II. This technology, like a secret code for radio signals, became the basis for WiFi and Bluetooth that we use for wireless communication today. There's a song about her called "Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler" by Moon Safari, celebrating her beauty and intelligence.

Bluetooth technology was developed by Ericsson, a Swedish telecommunications company, in 1994. The name "Bluetooth" is derived from the 10th-century Danish king, Harald "Bluetooth" Gormsson. The technology was named to symbolize the unification of devices, much like how King Bluetooth united Denmark. The Bluetooth logo is a combination of the initials "H" and "B" in the Nordic runes, which are the initials of King Harald Bluetooth, and it represents the connection and collaboration between different devices.

WiFi technology was developed by a group of engineers at NCR Corporation and AT&T in 1991. The original name for WiFi was "WaveLAN." The term "WiFi" itself was coined later as a catchy, consumer-friendly name by the marketing team at the Wi-Fi Alliance. It doesn't stand for anything specific but is a play on "Hi-Fi" (High Fidelity), suggesting high-quality wireless connections. The technology was officially named "WiFi" in 1999.
